Located close to the Hanthana mountain range is the Tea Museum which is approximately 5km from the Kandy town. Here guests will acquaint themselves with a unique concept that strives to preserve the rich history behind the island’s favourite beverage – tea.
Some of the exhibits at the museum are more than a 100 years old and include exhibits such as the oldest known packet of tea which is still in its original packing, a photograph of the largest tea bush and a hand written visiting agent's report dating back to 1895. These are just a few pieces of history relating to the tea industry that await those who are eager to discover its stories.
